At the Australia Eurovision 2017 contest for deciding the representative of the country as one of the most important music contests in the world, the singer Isaiah emerged victoriously. He was internally selected by the SBS Australian TV channel. At the first semi-final in Kyiv, he will perform the song “Don’t Come Easy”, already a major global hit.
Born on 21 November 1999 in Moama, a small Australian town located in the proximity of Melbourne, Isaiah Firebrace, known simply as Isaiah, is a young singer famous not only in Australia but in the entire world. The 17-year-old artist has eleven brothers and sisters and is passionate about sports and thrilling activities. He has declared that participating in Eurovision 2017 is a great honour and that he hopes many young kids will find inspiration in his success.
Isaiah’s fascinating itinerary through the music industry started last year when he participated in the eighth season of The X Factor Australia. At the grand finale, which took place right on his birthday, on 21 November 2016, he managed to impress the jury with his stellar performances of Beyonce’s “Halo”, Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” as well as his own single “It’s Gotta Be You”. At the end of the competition, Isaiah was the undisputed winner. And his Australia Eurovision arrival was only the start of an awesome career!
“It’s Gotta Be You”, Isaiah’s debut single peaked at the 26th position on the Australian Singles Chart. But what’s even more amazing is that he also gained a large fan base outside of Australia. “It’s Gotta Be You” also made it to the charts in Denmark, the Netherlands, New Zeeland and Sweden. Towards the end of 2016, the artist released his very first studio album, entitled “Isaiah”, which reached the 12th position on the Australian Album Charts. All in all, all these are astonishing performances for such a young artist.
Isaiah will compete in the first Eurovision 2017 semi-final on 9 May, in Kyiv. It remains to be seen whether or not the already worldwide-famous musician will manage to secure a place in the final on 13 May. It is without any doubt that the Isaiah Eurovision participation has a great potential for a win, as his song is composed and written by DNA, which also wrote and produced the hit “Sound of Silence”, for which Australia placed second at last year’s Eurovision.
If you love Isaiah’s music, don’t forget to watch his performance at the Eurovision 2017 Kyiv semi-final on 9 May. The singer is bound to deliver an amazing performance of his huge hit! Stay tuned for more news on Eurovision 2017 contestants!
