At the Serbia Eurovision preselection for the event in Ukraine, the broadcaster RTS selected Tijana Bogićević as the country’s representative. Tijana is one of the most successful Serbian pop singers and is most famous for her role as a backing vocalist for Nina Radojičić at Eurovision 2011 Dusseldorf. On the stage in Kyiv, she will perform her new hot hit, “In Too Deep”.
Tijana Bogićević is 35 years old and was born in Novi Sad, the second largest city in Serbia, on 1 November 1981. The singer discovered her immense passion for music at an early age and has always dreamt of being on the Eurovision stage. At the moment, Tijana lives in the United States.
The artist first became noticed in Serbia in 2001, when she teamed up with the popular singer Vlado Georgiev. Tijana served as Vlado’s backing vocalist. Another important event in her career is her 2009 participation at “Beovizija”, the Serbian national selection for Eurovision. She hoped to represent her country with the song “Watch What You’re Doing”, but failed to win the preselection. Nevertheless, her single enjoyed a great nationwide reception.
In 2011, Tijana finally made it to the Eurovision stage in Dusseldorf, where she performed as a backing singer for Serbia’s representative, Nina Radojičić. Two years later, she released "Čudo", a song which became a major hit all over Serbia. In 2014, she released another successful single, "Još jednom", a collaboration with Aleksa Jelić.
The Tijana Bogićević Eurovision act is regarded as one of the most promising entries in the competition, as it is the work of an outstanding team of musicians who have a history of great Eurovision results. Two of the authors of the song, Borislav Milanov and Bo Persson, were also on the team behind “If Love Was a Crime”, Poli Genova’s hit which placed 4th in last year’s final. Furthermore, the team of composers were also part of the team which produced “Rise Like A Phoenix”, Austrian Conchita Wurst’s winning entry at Eurovision 2014. Tijana’s song “In Too Deep”, which features some truly energising rhythms, will be performed live during the second Kyiv semi-final, on 11 May.
