The representative of Serbia for 2017 was determined through internal selection, the decision who will represent the country in Kiev was accepted by the editorial board of the RTS music programs.Tijana Bogićević already has experience of participating in Eurovision as a backing vocalist at Eurovision 2011 with Nina Radojičić. She also participated in the 2009 national selection. Currently she lives in the US.Tijana gladly accepted the invitation to participate in Eurovision again, describing it as an invaluable experience.
On March 11, a video presentation of the contest song titled “In Too Deep” was made. Tijana will perform it at the contest in Ukraine. The authors of her competitive song are the Symphonix International team: Borislav Milanov, Bo Persson, Johan Alkenas and Lisa Ann-Mari Linder. They also worked on the winning song of Conchita in 2014 “Rise Like A Phoenix” and last year on "If Love Was A Crime" songforPoli Genova from Bulgaria and it took the 4th place in the Grand Final.
The beginning of her professional musical career Tijana considers 2001, when she met Vlado Georgijev and started performing with his band as a back vocalist. Simultaneously, in 2003, she founded the alternative group Shanene, which soon became one of the leaders of the club scene. Since 2001, she has cooperated with many well-known musicians and performers and also was a back-vocalist in recording studio albums. Although she became an acknowledged back-vocalist, Tiyana's desire was always to start a solo artist career.
Her first performance as a soloist was at Beovizija 2009, where she performed a song in Europop style "Pazistaradis", finishing 17th in the semifinal. The opportunity to get on the stage of Eurovision came as a back-vocalist of Nina Radojičić in 2011. Tijanaevaluates this experience as priceless, and says that since then her desire was to take part in the contestagain.
In 2010, she released the single "Trajimkoja je", which was presented at the "Radio Festival". It was a big hit, and now it regularly enters the repertoire of participants in various talent shows. Alsoher duets with the group "Flamingosi" and Alexa Jelićattracted the attention, as well as the emotional ballad "Cudo", which became her first work with the composer and producer Dusan Alagic, with whom she has just finished recording her debut album. It is planned that it will be released in autumn 2017.
Serbia has previously participated in Eurovision as a part of Yugoslavia between 1961 and 1992, and then entered the competition with Montenegro between 2004 and 2006. The first and the only victory of Serbia was brought by Marija Šerifović, who participated in Eurovision 2007 with the song "Molitva" and received 268 points.
Last year, Serbia was represented by SanjaVučić Zaa with the song "Goodbye". The country scored 115 points.
